I am
My name is Tara. I was a preschool teacher for ten years before taking a break to be home with my two children. While I was teaching, I was both a general education lead teacher and a special education teacher. I love kids! I have always enjoyed the chaos of a classroom and the laughter that only kids can create. My passion is finding how to make kids successful. The only way that happens is with a great network of people supporting them. I decided to create Parent Voice to help empower parents of students with special needs. I want to help you understand how best to challenge and find success for your kiddo. I would love to meet you and find out if I can help you on the journey that is special education.
What I do
IEP Coaching and Consultation
Do you want to feel more confident in your child’s IEP meeting, but aren’t ready for an advocate? I can help. In this package, I will do a record review of all of your child’s current evaluations, progress report and Individualized Education Plan (IEP). After this review, we will meet to discuss concerns, questions or hopes you have for next steps. I will then help you create a plan for next steps so you feel empowered to be your child’s advocate.
Home Coaching and Support
Are you wondering how you can support your child more at home? I will talk through any challenges you want to address, or areas you want to continue to improve for your child. This can include an at home visit to help with your environment and setting up routines that match what your child’s school team is doing. The more consistency a child has, the better outcomes we see.
